Project Instructions

    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, or disposable foil.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth. Wash hands after use. Wrap any extra clay in then wrapper and then put in an air tight container.

Take the clay and roll it into a ball.
Flatten it down into a sheet using a rolling pin. This is going to be the base of the box, so be sure not to make it too thin.
Use a blade to carefully create the outline of the letter you are going to make. Trim the clay and pull away the excess.
Roll a coil of the clay and also flatten it down. The width of the clay will determine how deep the box is. Decide if you would like a deep or shallower box and trim the clay accordingly.
Begin adding the sides to the base of the box and blend them together using your fingers. Once all the sides have been attached, allow the clay to fully harden.
Begin adding paint for detail. Start with brushing on a few coats of white acrylic paint and allowing it to dry between layers.
Spatter paint on the box for an added design. Take the colours you would like and flick the acrylic paint on using a paint brush. Add as many or few splatters as desired and allow the paint to dry.
