Getting Started:

Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Baking:

Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.

Mix 1.5 oz of Silver with half an oz of White until streaks in silver are all blended out, the sliver will be lighter. Flatten mixed silver to about 1/2 inch thickness.

Trim this silver mix to 5 inches by 1-1/5 inches for the body. Cut a rectangle from the remaining silver mix that is 0.5 x 1 inch for the head. Roll 4 balls of silver to 1/2 inch in size

Flatten the remaining silver to 1/4 inch thickness and cut two pieces to 0.5 x 0.25 inches. Shape 2 balls into mittens. Set aside

Roll half the package of Dusty Rose into long string rope, cut into 16 1/2 inch pieces. Shape into .03 wide discs

Press two toothpicks into body about 1/4 inch. Run four Dusty Rose discs up each toothpick. Attach feet, leave bit of tooth tip out. Cut another toothpick into two and attach to each side of body. Run two Dusty Rose discs up each arm, attach ball, attach other half of toothpick, attach two more discs and finally mitten hands. Take last Dust Rose disc, cut in half and roll into button ears, attach to each side of head.

Using a toothpick, poke two holes in face to create eyes, insert small balls of red clay into each socket. Roll some silver out to about 1/16 inch. Cut a piece of this clay about 2 inches long and wrap around lower portion of head to create mouth

Stack 1/4 inch and some slightly smaller pieces of red to create head knobs. Shape a small amount of red into red heart. Using craft wire, twist into coil. Dab Bake and Bond into each end. Stick wire into stacked head knobs and into bottom of heart. Roll a small amount of red into heart shape and attach to chest. Take blade and slice slightly into lower section of head front and sides to create mouth.

Cut toothpick 1/3 of a toothpick and stick into top of body and attach head to body. Cut toothpick in half, use a small amount of of silver clay shape into triangle for an arrow. Dab Bake and Bond onto tip and attach silver to create arrow head.Shape craft wire into bow shape. Shape a small amount of white clay shape into triangle, cut slit into triangle and run lines down mermaid shape to create feather look, dab Bake and Bond onto tip and attach other end of toothpick. Take 1/2 oz of red and flatten to 1/2" circle. Shape one side of circle into point and slice 1 inch into opposite end and shape into heart top to create a heart shape. Dab bake and bond onto bottom of robot's feet with point toothpick ends and stick into heart shaped base

Roll two 1/2 inch balls of white. Shape into dew drop, cut two 0.5 lines into wide end and shape into wing tips. Make two holes on upper back of robot cupid for wings. Dab inside of holes with Bake and Bond and attach wings.

Bake the entire sculpture as directed above.

For grungy aged look, brush robot with light rustic finish by painting on paint acrylic paint and wiping off excess with damp paper towel. Glue bow and arrow into hands. Finish with Gloss Varnish for shiny robot goodness.
