Project Instructions
- Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
- Baking:
Sheet out the conditioned Violet clay on the second from widest setting. Use the largest of the Irregular Rectangle cutters to cut out a dozen pieces.
Lightly spray the texture sheet with water and place a petal on the sheet. Wrap the sheet over onto the clay and press lightly to texture both sides of the clay. Repeat for each petal.
Start laying the petals around the bottom of the oven-proof bowl, overlapping the petals evenly. Don’t worry about covering the center, the orange circles will cover it. Remember to press lightly so that you don’t damage the texture on the petals facing the bowl.
Using the middle circle cutter (or size best to cover the center hole in your petals), cut two circles out of the conditioned Just Orange clay (sheeted out on the middle setting on the Clay Conditioning Machine). Place one of the circles on the bottom of the bowl. Use the smallest of the Style n’ Detail tools to texture the other circle and put on the baking tray.
Bake the pieces on the bowl and the second Just Orange circle according to the directions in Step 1.
Once the clay has baked and cooled, gently lift each petal to detach if from the bowl and remove the clay from the bowl. Glue the second, textured circle into the center of the bowl. Lightly brush some gold craft paint onto the Just Orange circle and the inside portion of the petals. Allow the paint to dry.
