Project Instructions

Step 1

Getting Started with Getting Started with Sculpey® Bake Shop

 Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) 15 minutes per 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness.

To avoid cracking or burning your craft, use an oven thermometer to gauge heat and avoid going over the necessary baking time.

An adult should take care of the baking in a home oven or toaster oven. Never use a microwave to bake the clay.

DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.

Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey Tools™ Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Step 2

From 1/2 bar of White, make a thick oval. I pushed some dents in the top of the head for ear placement.

Step 3

From 1/16 bar of Black we will make the ears, eyes, and nose. Divide into a 2/3 piece and a 1/3 piece.

Step 4

Roll the 2/3 piece into a ball. Flatten the ball then cut it in half for 2 half circle ears.

Remove a tiny bit from the 1/3 piece for the nose.

Divide the remainder of the 1/3 piece into 2 equal balls for eyes.

Step 5

Push an ear onto each side of the head.

Use the ball tool to make divots for eyes.

Step 6

Flatten the eyes into the divots.

Place the nose.

Draw a smile with a tool.

Step 7

Add White highlights to the eyes.

Step 8

Bake following the baking instructions for Sculpey® Bake Shop and allow to cool completely.
