Project Instructions
Getting Started:
Polymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use.
Baking should be completed by an adult. Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.

From White Gold, make a medium size teardrop bezel from the mold. For this project we will be using the bezel upside down with the rim down and the flat side up.
Place a small dot of Translucent Liquid Sculpey® in the middle of the teardrop shape.
From Sunset Pearl, make a medium size teardrop cabochon from the mold. Set the cabochon in the center of the White Gold teardrop shape.
From White Gold, form a thin rope. Place the rope around the outside edge of the Sunset teardrop. Trim the ends and smooth the seam with your finger.
Use the small Etch ’n Pearl tool to form pearls in the White Gold rope. Start at the top of the teardrop and work your way around the edge, pressing the pearl shape in with the tool and making sure that the pearls sit closely together with sides touching.
Place a dot of super glue in the center of the ring finding. Fill the finding with White Gold. Make sure the excess is trimmed away but that the clay in the finding will touch the back of the ring design. Place a dot of Translucent Liquid Sculpey in the White Gold that is in the finding.
Set two skewers up in the baking rack, and on a baking pan, crossing each other so that they create a space where you can balance the ring upright. Carefully set the ring near the spot where the skewers intersect. Bake as directed above and allow to cool completely.
When the ring is fully cool, enjoy!
