Project Instructions
Preheat oven to 275 °F. Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. Condition all clay by kneading until it’s soft and smooth or running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Condition each color of clay and roll out onto a #4 setting on Clay Conditioning Machine or roughly 1/16" thick.
Stack colors with Copper on bottom, Black in the middle, Silver on top. Press sheets together.
Roll entire sheet through Clay Conditioning Machine on a #1 setting. Cut stack in half and stack again.
Roll re-assembled sheet through on a #1 setting.
Mist rubber stamp with a fine mist of water. Press design deeply into stack of clay, exerting even force. Remove stamp.
Adhere stack of clay to a ceramic tile or sheet of glass so that it doesn't easily move.
Your stamped design has high and low spots. You want to shave off the high spots with your Super Slicer. Hold each end of the blade and shave horizontally. Take your time.
