Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey Tools™ Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.
While both beginner and experienced clayers often choose Sculpey Soufflé™ as their chosenSculpey® line, the clay is also a favorite among professional artists.
Sculpey Soufflé™ is a lightweight polymer clay known for its durable nature and ability to hold fine details — especially when it comes to mixed media projects and one-of-a-kind home decor items. This clay has a beautiful suede finish and will not crack when used to make large-scale masterpieces.
While there are several differences between Sculpey Soufflé™, Sculpey Premo™ and Sculpey III®, there are also some straightforward ways to tell these three lines apart:
After curing, you can paint on any oven-bake clay, including the clays from the Sculpey Soufflé™ Multipack. For the best results, use water-based acrylic paints and test an out-of-sight section of your project first. Then apply the paint and allow it to dry entirely before observing for any interactions with the clay.
It's also helpful to test a concealed section of your project before glazing a painted piece. As above, apply the glaze and let it dry completely before noticing any interactions.
You can use any paint on your Sculpey Soufflé™ creation if you seal the piece with two or three thin layers of Sculpey® Gloss Glaze. Apply several thin coats rather than one thick coat for the best coverage.
No, using Sculpey glazes will not make your creations waterproof.
Sculpey Soufflé™ Is Ideal for Making Jewelry
