Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Sheet 1/4 bar of White and 1/4 bar of Black each through the pasta machine on the thickest setting. Place one sheet on top of the other.
Sheet both sheets together through the pasta machine on the thickest setting.
Cut the sheets in half with the Clay Blade and place one half on top of the other. Roll over it with the Acrylic Clay Roller to smooth out bubbles.
Cut the striped slab in half and stack up the halves again. Roll again to smooth out bubbles.
Cut in half one more time and stack up the halves. Press the stack with your fingertips to smooth out bubbles.
Here is how the stack looks from the side.
Cut the stack in half one more time and press the halves together gently.
Cut the stack into slices that are about 1/8” thick. Roll the slices to thin them or press through the pasta machine on the thickest setting to stretch them.
Cut out two 1.5” circles using the Graduated Circle Cutters. Cut the centers out using the .75” cutters.
Sheet 1/2 bar of Mint Green through the pasta machine on the thickest setting. Position the striped circles on top of the Mint Green sheet.
Cut out the circles again through the Mint Green sheet to create layered circles.
Add pops of Mint Green on top of the stripes using the Small and Medium Etch ‘n Pearls.

Poke holes in the earrings using the Needle Tool so that you can assemble them later with jump rings.
Bake the pieces following the baking instructions in Step 1 above.

Allow to cool completely before assembling with jump rings as shown.
