Sculpey Soufflé™ Donut Bead Bracelet

Getting Started:

Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven
Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured
clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to
cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together.  Wash hands
after use.

Baking (also called Curing):

Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such as metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Oven Safe Work Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) of thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic
surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking
times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For
best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE T™EMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.

Mix French Pink with 18K Gold 2:1. 1/16 bar French Pink to 1/32 bar 18K Gold. Mix completely to create Golden French Pink.

Form a ball of the Golden French Pink. Compare the size of the ball to the small donut cabochon mold.

To help the ball easily fit into the donut shape in the mold, start by pressing a hole all the way through the ball with the 6 mm Ball Tool.

Press the hole of the ball around the post in the small donut shape. In this case, the clay it the photo is a little too large so it is also covering the back of the post. Press the clay in hard so that it fill the entire well.

Use a Clay Blade to shave the back of the clay level revealing the post again.

You can either bake the clay in the mold or you can pop it out to bake it. If you pop it out before baking you can check for any inconsistencies on the surface of the clay that might need to be smoothed.

Bake the clay (either in the mold or out of the mold) following the baking instructions for Sculpey Soufflé™.

Allow to cool completely before handling.

Here’s the layout for the bracelet.

Use pliers to open and close the oval shaped jump ring placing it around the side of the donut cabochon.

Attach on side of the bracelet to the oval jump ring with a small jump ring.

Thread the other jump ring onto the second side of the bracelet.

Thread the end of the bracelet through the donut, and then attach it to the jump ring with flat nose pliers.
