Project Instructions

Step 1

Getting Started with Getting Started with Sculpey® Bake Shop

Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) 15 minutes per 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness.
To avoid cracking or burning your craft, use an oven thermometer to gauge heat and avoid going over the necessary baking time.
An adult should take care of the baking in a home oven or toaster oven. Never use a microwave to bake the clay.

DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey Tools™ Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Step 2

Condition a 1 inch ball of blue, 1 inch ball purple, ½ inch ball of black, ½ inch ball pink, ½ inch ball of yellow.

Step 3

Roll out a log of each color, gather the strips together and twist them.

Step 4

Cut the log in half and repeat a few times until the clays are mixed nicely (but not too much or you will lose the galaxy effect).

Step 5

Flatten it out using your roller and use the cutting tool to cut out a 3-inch circle. (You can trace a circle onto a piece of paper and cut it out to use as a guide to cut your circle.)

Step 6

Place the circle onto baking paper and inside a bowl or curved surface to bake to make sure your dish has an even curve at the bottom.

Step 7

Bake according to the directions in Step 1 above. Once baked and cooled, draw a gold rim using your gold marker pen.
