Conditioning your clay is easy. Simply roll it back and forth in your hand to warm it up. Roll it into a ball, then into a log. Repeat the process until you have a soft, pliable log of clay. You could also use a clay conditioning machine to make it nice and soft. A machine can condition even harder clays in a fraction of the time.

Wall-Mounted Flower Pot

1. Roll out a ball of beige polymer clay into a flat, oblong oval shape. 
2. Use the Sculpey Tools™ Clay Tool Starter Set to create two holes at the top and a slit in the middle. 
3. Grab an old spice bottle or glass vessel and place it underneath the slit. This should create a vase big enough for your flowers. Feel free to adjust the slit size depending on the amount of flowers you wish to slot in. 
4. Smooth out the surface of the vase and use your tools to add any textures or designs. 
5. Once you’re happy with the vase size and appearance, bake it according to the product directions. 
6. When it cools down, put screws through the two holes at the top and mount it to a wall. Stick in any flowers you like. 

Lotus Candle Holder 

Add a touch of zen to any space with this lotus candle holder. Throw in a scented candle to transform the space. This project has a few more steps than most but is still beginner-friendly. Follow these instructions: 

1. Roll out a piece of white clay around 4mm to 5 mm thick. 
2. Use a round cookie cutter that’s approximately the same size as your tealight candles to cut out 22 circles. 
3. Slightly flatten one of the circles. This will be the base for your candle, so it should be slightly bigger. 
4. Set aside one circle for later. 
5. Take each of the remaining circles and form them into petal shapes. Gently elongate them into oval-like pieces. Pinch and fold the top to create that delicate petal effect.
6. Once you’ve made all your petals, you can start attaching them. Start by pressing five petals onto the base. 
7. Attach the other petals between each petal on top of one another. They should be toward the center and pointing upwards. 
8. Once you’ve secured all the petals, press your tealight candle down the center to create a flat base. 
9. Score the center with a tool to create friction marks. Press down the one circle of clay that you saved from earlier. 
10. Bake it and allow it to cool. You can leave it white for that minimalist appeal or paint it to match your home's color scheme. 

Sunset Jar

1. Find an oven-safe jar in the shape you like and measure the base. Press on a thick sheet of clay and cut around the base. 
2. Roll out a sheet of Sculpey Premo™ - 2 oz / Mauve and Sunset Pearl into two squares. Then, fold them into triangles. 
3. Place the triangles side-by-side and press them together to make one square. Run it through the clay conditioning machine until you achieve a blend you like.

5. Press the base onto the jar. Then, wrap the sheet around the jar, gently pressing out any air bubbles. 
6. Ensure it’s secured to the jar and the base is stuck well. Trim edges accordingly.
7. Bake according to the package directions. Once cooled, you can apply a sticker with a cute saying. 

Abstract Flower or Heart Shaped Coasters

If you’re looking for easy, adorable polymer clay home decor ideas, these coasters are what you need. You can make them into hearts or flowers (or both). They’re also an excellent way to use up those extra bits of clay from previous projects. Follow these steps to make them: 

1. Grab a handful of clay in any color you like. You could also use the Sculpey III® 10 Piece Brights Multi-Pack to create coasters in many vibrant shades. Alternatively, grab all your leftover bits and condition them together. 
2. Roll them into a log and cut them into however many coasters you want. 
3. Roll each portion into around 15-inch cylinders. 
4. Join the end of the cylinder to form a circle. Ensure the seam isn’t visible. 
5. Shape it into a flower with five petals or a simple heart.
6. Bake and allow to cool. Place it on the coffee table to add a pop of color.

Galaxy Trinket Dish

2. Roll each ball into a log, then twist all the logs together.
3. Slice the log in half. Join the halves and roll them together. Repeat this step a few times, but don’t overdo it, or you’ll lose the stunning galaxy design. 
4. Once your log is blended but still has bright bits of color, roll it flat.
5. Use a circle-cutting tool to get a perfect round shape.
