The top row of the large photo contains the 3 colors that I'm mixing with the featured color on the far right. The bottom 3 colors are the colors mixes created by mixing the color directly above with equal portions (1:1) of the featured color.
Color mixers rejoice- we now have a great Cobalt Blue in the Soufflé™ family! Even if you aren’t a fan of color mixing, this color is a gorgeous blue! I mixed so many colors with this I had to narrow it down to just my usual 4 and it was HARD. So I’m going to just describe one more mix color for you – Cobalt Blue and Pumpkin 1:1 mix makes a great denim blue tone!
It’s Summertime and I went with the classic summer combo of a rich blue paired with white for these heishi-style earrings.
New to making heishi? I just make a small 1 inch ball (or smaller) of conditioned clay and then put a double pointed knitting needle (or bamboo skewer) through the ball. Now roll it back and forth on your table top and the pressure will cause the clay to spread along the skewer. Stop when they are the width you want. Bake them right on the skewer. Once they are baked/cooled, just use your pliers to give a gently twist to the skewer and length of clay will slide right off. Now slice to your preferred thickness and CREATE!
