Your Workspace:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Shape a cone from each color. The cones should be 1/2” diameter on the thick end and 4” long.
Lay the cones sides touching with large ends on opposite sides. Press the cones together
Roll and twist the two colors together. Taper both ends. Continue rolling and twisting until the rope is about 16” long.
Coil each of the ends. Make sure the centers of the coils are an open hole. Bend the rope in half.
Bring the halfway point up between the coils so that you have a curvy “W” shape
Press the coils toward each other compacting the “W” shape so that all parts of the rope are now touching in the middle. You should have one loop on the top and two loops on the bottom.
Bake as directed above in Step 1 and allow to cool completely. When the piece is cool you may assemble it as follows:
Divide the chain into two pieces 1.75” long and one piece 32.5” long.
Put each eye pin through one of the crystal beads. Use the pliers to shape the other end of the eye pin into an eye so that the crystal bead has an eye hook on each end. Attach a jump ring to each of the eyes.
String a 1.75” piece of chain through one of the coils on the clay piece. Open one of the jump rings and string both ends of the short chain onto the jump ring. Close the jump ring. Repeat on the other end of the clay piece with the other short chain attaching it to the jump ring 5. Open the opposite jump ring that is not attached to a short chain. String both ends of the long chain onto the jump ring. Close the jump ring.
Open the last jump ring that is not already attached to a chain. Catch the middle of the long chain on the jump ring so that the chain slides freely through the jump ring. Close the jump ring.
