Project Instructions
Your Workspace:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Take a 1/4 of the White bar of clay and shape into a Tear drop for the body.
Take a 1/8” of the White bar of clay and make a ball for the head of the panda.
Make a ¼” White ball for the muzzle of the bear.
Make two flattened 3/16” balls for the pads of the paws. Make six 1/8” flattened balls for the toes.
Make two White 1/16” flattened balls for the eyes.
Take ¼ of the Black bar of clay and shape into two clubs for the legs, slightly flattened on one end.
Take 1/2 row of clay and shape into clubs for the arms.
Make two 5/16” Black flattened balls for the ears.
Out of Black clay - make one 1/8” triangle for the nose, two ¼” flattened ovals for the eye patches and two tiny balls for the eyes.
Assemble the bear –firmly press pieces together without distorting them. Press the legs of to the bottom sides of the body and the arms to the upper sides of the body. Press the paws onto the bottom of the legs. Press the muzzle, nose, eye patches and eyes to the head, then press the head onto the top of the body. Finish by attaching the ears to the head
Bake according to the directions above in Step 1 and allow to cool completely.
