Getting Started:Polymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult. Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Using ¼ package each of Black and White, roll equal size sheets on the # 1 setting of the Clay Conditioning Machine. Stack the two sheets and roll together again on the thickest setting of the Clay Conditioning Machine. Cut the sheet in two and stack
Roll a sheet of Peacock Pearl using about 1/8 package of clay. Roll to a # 3 setting on the Clay Conditioning Machine and stack this on top of the White/Black stack.
Roll the stack on the # 1 setting of the clay conditioning machine. Cut and restack. Roll once more.
Cut and restack the layers. Create a design in the surface by pressing the side of plastic card into the slab, being careful not to cut through to the bottom layer. Also press the small cutters and needle tool into the surface almost to the bottom. Press the sides inward to stick the clay back together.
Slice off the top surface using the super slicer. Using the flexible blade of the super slicer parallel to the work surface slice off the top of the stack.
Continue slicing the stack in thin slices. Press the slices to a backing sheet of one of the three original colors. Roll smooth on the # 3 setting of the Clay Conditioning Machine
Cut one circle with the 1.5â€ cutter and place it over the corresponding dome on the hollow bead maker.
Cut 6 circles and press them on the next smaller dome. Baking will have to be done in stages to complete 6 pieces. Bake according to the instructions above and allow to completely cool.
Roll a sheet of Black clay on the thickest setting. Press the sheet between the two sanding papers to texture both sides. Cut one 1.5â€ circle and six 1.25â€ circles from the textured clay.
Add a bead of Translucent Liquid Sculpey around the inside rim of the patterned baked domes. Press the dome onto the black clay. Repeat for all the domes. Bake according to the instructions above and allow to completely cool.
Roll a snake of Black clay and texture one side. Cut two pieces for each bead to form loops that will hold the metal rings. Press the “legsâ€ of each loop flat against the baking surface. Bake according to the instructions above and allow to completely cool.

Assemble the necklace by gluing the loops to the back of the beads around the metal ring links. Attach the chain to the end links.
