Preheat oven to 275 °F. Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. Condition all clay by kneading until it’s soft and smooth or running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Lightly condition 1/4 bar Translucent clay. Using Clay Conditioning Machine on #6 setting, make clay sheet and place on waxed paper. Tap out small glitter piles of Yellow, Silver and Copper glitter on the Translucent sheet. Rub glitter with your finger to adhere glitter to the sheet. When sheet is covered, carefully shake to remove excess glitter.
With Clay Conditioning Machine on #5 setting, make Bright Green Pearl sheet with 1/8 bar. Cut Translucent sheet section with yellow glitter and lay glitter side DOWN on Bright Green sheet. Roll with Acrylic Roller, taking care not to trap air bubbles between sheets.
Make 3/4" diameter Purple Pearl ball. With craft knife and mini cutters, cut pieces from the glitter sheet and Bright Green sheet. Place pieces of translucent side up on the base bead, pressing in so the pieces are level with the base bead surface. Roll bead occasionally to adhere appliqués to base bead. When bead is covered with appliqués, roll until all pieces are incorporated. Shape bead into thick square. Place in ring finding, pressing and shaping to fill the square opening. Bake according to directions above. Remove from oven and immediately place in cold water.
Remove baked clay cabochon from ring. Wet-sand with 400, 600, 800, and 1,000-grit sandpaper. Put on safety glasses; polish cabochon on buffing machine at medium speed until you get a glass-like finish. Superglue into ring.
Overlap appliqués. Use long pieces cut from your glitter sheet or rows of dots to connect different elements together.Don't cover the whole bead with appliqués – let some of the pretty base bead show through.
