    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Mix each half of each package of Souffle with a quater of the 18K Gold. So you are mixing roughly 2 parts Souffle color to 1 part 18K. Sheet each mixed color out on the middle setting on the clay conditioning machine.
Use the largest teardrop cutter to cut out 6 petals from the Royalty/18K mix. Place a petal in the palm of your hand with the widest part facing away from you. Use the large Style n’ Detail tool to gently press and roll into the wide portion of the petal. Repeat on each petal.
Use the second from largest circle cutter to cut out a circle of Royalty and position the completed petals around the circle as shown.
Repeat with the two other mixed cutters, using the smallest teardrop for the Guava/18k petals and the middle cutter for the Turnip/18k petals. Position each petal between two petals below it as shown. Add some Bake n’ bond to the center of the flower and gently press the metal flower into the center of the flower. Bake as directed.
One the flower has baked and cooled, just glue it to your selected votive (or how about a journal cover? Super fancy wrapped gift? Wine bottle for guest gift?). Tuck a couple of silk leaves, with a drop of glue on each, behind the flower. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly.
