    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Make a 5x7” sheet of Cherry Pie on the #3 setting of your clay machine. Texture. I used the Sculpey Flexible Texture Sheet in the Floral from the Landscape Set. Set aside.
Extrude all of the Igloo, then the remaining Cherry Pie, then the Poppy Seed using a square die.Cut all extruded clay into 3” pieces. Arrange the squares as you wish. You’ll end up with a nice sized cane. I always make extra cane and you might want to as well. Roll over the cane on all sides to compact and compress. You don’t need to reduce the cane unless you want to.
Lay your template on the PLAIN side of the Cherry Pie sheet. With the smallest Sculpey Ball Stylus, draw a light line around the shape of the template. You can see I’ve cut this template smaller. The Kit comes with two templates so you can make them different sizes.
Slice your cane about the thickness of a dime. Take your time and make your cuts as evenly as possible. Arrange the slices on the red sheet, using the line as a guide.
Lay down your template and cut inside the line with a craft knife. Cut two “buttons” from the leftover parts. There will also be enough left for earrings and maybe a bracelet!Lay the collar on a glass or metal bowl. Place the spoon bails at each end. Put the button over them with Bake n’Bond. Press firmly. Bake according to the directions above
I wanted the Souffle Suede finish; but you can glaze, if desired. Try your collar on; then add chain and toggle clasp. Enjoy!
