    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
From an entire block of Cherry Pie, roll a thick log. Lay two tiny ropes of each of the other colors around the outside of the log. Roll the log gently to stick the ropes on.
Roll and twist the log to make stripes.
Fold the twist in half and then in half again. Folding the log will help multiply the stripes.
Continue rolling, twisting, and folding until you like how many stripes you have.
Once you are happy with the stripes only roll the log into a short fat shape.
Using the clay blade,  carefully cut the log in half lengthwise. This will make it so you can utilize the beautiful stripes on all sides of the log.
Flatten each half of the log through the pasta machine on the thickest setting.
Drag the Design Comb across the stripes holding the comb at a 45 degree angle. This action will drag a pattern through the stripes. It’s okay if it makes shallow grooves in the clay.
Press the striped clay sheets through the pasta machine on the second thickest setting and again on the third thickest setting.
Press the striped clay sheets through the pasta machine on the second thickest setting and again on the third thickest setting.
Add partial pieces to the top to help make the top of the heart lobes.
Beginning at the bottom point, cut straight edges all the way up to the widest points of the heart.
Finally cut out the lobes at the top of the heart.
Bake the clay heart following the baking instructions. While the heart is baking, make the quote for your sign. Lay smooth glass over the printed quote that you want to use. Trace the quote with White Liquid Sculpey. Bake the quote following the baking instructions to set it
Place all the clay elements on the board to see how they fit. If you like you can paint the board in a coordinating color
