Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 Â°F (130 Â°C) for 15 minutes per 1/4â€ (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.
Begin by preheating oven to 275 Â°F (130 Â°C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay.
To Make the Spider:
For the body- Create a ball about 1/2â€ wide.
For the head- Create a smaller ball about 3/16â€ wide.
For the legs- Create eight small snakes about 3/4â€ long.
For the pinchers- Create a thin short snake, taper the ends into points to form the pincher.
For the eyes: Create 2 very small balls.
For the eyes- Create two very small balls.
Press the head onto the body. Press the eyes and pincher on the face. Press the legs on the sides of the body and shape so they are bent.
Bake according the manufacturerâ€™s instructions.
