Additional Resources

Your workspace:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
For the Cat:

Begin by rolling out a 1.25â€ ball of Glow in the Dark clay into a teardrop shape for the body, set on work surface.
Roll out two .75â€ balls of Glow in the Dark clay into hind legs and press to attach them to the body. Roll out two .75â€ balls of Glow in the Dark clay and shape into the front paws
Make toe indentions to all four paws and dust with pink chalk (optional). Next insert a half of a toothpick in the neck and roll out a 1â€ ball for the head and insert it over the toothpick (adds extra stability). Add two small triangles for ears and make an indention in each ear.
Indent whisker lines and dust cheeks with pink chalk (optional). Add any size nose in Sweet Potato, two black seed beads for eyes, make eyebrow indentions and muzzle lines. Use toothpick to make a hole for the mouth. For the tail, roll out a snake of Glow in the Dark clay and shape as desired and press into position
For the Basket:

Make a ball using 1â€ of Sweet Potato clay. Make an opening using the end of a paint brush/craft knife or similar tool. Make pumpkin indention lines. For the handle, flatten a small amount of black clay and attach this over the pumpkin. Make two buttons to finish it off using two tiny balls of black clay and pressing them over each end of the handle.
For Candy Corn: Flatten white, orange and yellow logs of clay. Stack them on each other and cut out two triangle shapes. Place one in the basket and press one onto the cat’s left front paw
Bake as directed above in Step 1. Once cooled add a dot of white paint to the cheeks as highlights
