    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Using the Clay Conditioning Machine, condition 1/2 package of Buried Treasure and Tranquility on a # 3 setting. Using the quarter as your template, use the Craft Knife to cut out two disks from Buried Treasure. Smooth the edges. Cut out two more disks in this color using the 9/16” circle cutter. Set these aside.
Now use the dime as your template and cut out two disks from Tranquility. Smooth the edges. Use the 3/8” cutter to make holes in all 6 of your disks towards the top.
Using the fine textured sponge, press the texture into the largest disk made with Buried Treasure. Bake all the pieces according to the manufactures instructions. Allow to cool.
Dry brush some of the Aqua Pearl color paint over your largest Buried Treasure disk.Dry brushing is a very light coating of paint. Do not use any water and use very little paint on your brush. It just gives a nice aqua sheen to the textured disc. Once dry you can assemble your earrings.
Using the jewelry pliers, open the hook end of the metal earrings and push on an aqua glass seed bead. Reshape the hook. Put all three of your clay disks together, going from smallest to largest. The Tranquility disk will be in the middle of the three. Attach these together using a jump ring. Attach the jump ring to your earring using jewelry pliers.
