Getting Started:Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 degrees F (130 degrees C) for 15 minutes per ¼” (6mm) thickness. For best baking results, use and oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be done by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 degrees F (130 degrees C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
You will need about 1/2 block of black & white for yourPanda.Set aside a small piece of white & black, plus your toothpick for later.
Take your piece of white and cut it into three sections:two about equal and one large section. Roll the large section into a ball and one of the other sections into a ball as well.
Take the large ball and roll it into a teardrop.Place the smaller ball on top of the teardrop. Press down firmly so your pieces don’t fall apart.
Take your black piece of clay and cut it like the picture so you have six small pieces and two larger pieces of clay. Take all of those sections and roll them into balls. Easypeasy!
Take the TWO of the largest balls and roll them into tear drops and use them as the bottom feet of your Panda. Choose two more balls and roll them into tear drops and use them as the arms of your Panda
Take two more of the balls and flatten them slightly to use as ears. Place on the top of his head. Use the toothpick to add “hair” where they meet his head. Take to more of the balls and roll them into teardrops and flatten them slightly to use as eyes. Roll a WHITE ball of clay from the clay you set aside at the beginning and place as a nose on your Panda.
Use the additional white & black clay you set aside at the beginning to add eye, nose, and paw details.
BAKE ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS.After baking you can add details using acrylic paint if you’d like.
