Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4” (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult. Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Roll each of the following colors through the clay conditioning machine on the #1 setting separately. Always work lightest to darkest. 1 ounce each of Tranquility and Camouflage and 2 ounces of Pearl (divided). You need to end up 4 sheets of clay.
Stack Tranquility and Pearl, and run through the clay conditioning machine the #1 setting.
Stack Camouflage and Pearl and run them through the clay conditioning machine on the #1 setting.
Stack the new Tranquility/Pearl sheet and the new Camouflage/Pearl sheet. Then run through the clay conditioning machine on the #1 setting again.
Cut the sheet in half and stack, repeat this step three more times, to end up with a tall stack of clay.
Using the Super Slicer cut two slices off of the stack – one for each earring.
Spray the ends of the Dragging tool with water and with some pressure pull the tool over the sheet of clay. The clay will be slightly distorted with grooves pressed into it. Using an acrylic roller, gently go over sheet to omit the grooves. You can do the same by using the clay conditioning machine as well, gently rolling the sheet through the #1 setting first and then do one or two more settings until the grooves are gone. Do this to both sheets.
Cut one small drop shape out of each striped sheet using the tear drop shape from the mini metal cutter set. Make sure you leave enough room to cut out the larger tear drop shape.
Using the clay conditioning machine on the #1 setting, make 2 sheets of Camouflage clay. Texture both sides of each sheet with a rough sandpaper. Press the striped sheets with the tear drop cut out onto the Camouflage sheets.
Cut out a large tear drop shape from each sheet, making sure to position the already cut out small tear drop shape on the top.
Using the needle tool make a hole in the top of each of them.
Press one metal star spacer beads into the middle of each of the small drop shape.
Make two small balls in Pearl (approx. 1/8”) and two tiny balls in Tranquility (approx 1/16”). Press the Pearl ball into the middle of the star spacer bead. Then press the Tranquility ball on top of the Pearl ball. Do this for both earrings.
Bake according to the directions above. Once completely cooled, assemble with jump rings and fish hook earrings.
