    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 315 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Roll a ball of Purple clay approx. 1 3/4 to 2” in diameter. This will be the body and head of your monster. Roll 4 balls of Purple approx. 3/4” in size. These will be the hands and feet of your monster. Roll one ball of Purple 1” in size for the tail of the monster.
Make the body into an oblong shape. Form pointy ears on the head. Make the body shape slightly smaller at the top where the ears are and wider at the bottom. Set aside. Shape the hands and feet into chubby triangle shapes. Use your Sculpey 5 in 1 tool to create 3 indents on each hand and foot. Press your finger in the center of each hand. Attach the hands and feet to your monster. Shape the tail by rolling a snake and then point one end. Attach the tail to your monster. Using the 5 in 1 tool make a nice big mouth for the monster.
Roll a ball or Orange clay approx. 1/2” in size and then flatten into an oval shape. Press and smooth onto the belly of your monster. Roll two small balls of Orange and then flatten. Roll two smaller balls of Black clay and then press onto the orange. Press these onto the monster for his eyes. Roll two small balls of White clay. Make them into tiny triangles and then flatten and press onto the monster’s mouth for teeth.
