Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.
Baking: Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Make a sheet of the conditioned Gold clay on a #2 setting on the pasta machine, using about a half a bar of the clay. Lay the texture sheet you want (we used graphic flower) on top of the clay and roll over it using the acrylic roller to get a deep impression.
Use the largest cutter from the set to cut out a circle. Using the non textured area of Gold clay sheet, cut out another circle the same size. Set aside, uou will use this for the back.
Make a sheet of the Gray Granite clay on the #2 setting on the pasta machine. Cut out a circle, using the largest cutter (same as Step 3).
Using the blade from the bead making kit cut the gray circle in half and the texture circle in half
Flip the textured half circle over so that the texture is touching the table and put the gray granite half circle on top of it to make a complete circle. Gently smudge the seams together.
Lay the new circle on top of the non-textured Gold circle (texture side facing up). Using the large cutter cut it again – this will only remove a little bit but it will make the new circle all the same size.
Use the needle tool from the bead making kit to make a hole in the top of the pendant. Bake according to the directions above and allow to cool completely.
Attach the jump ring using pliers and add the gold chain
