Getting StartedPolymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
With the Clay Conditioning Machine on the #2 setting roll out a sheet of the Turquoise clay. Following the Texture Sheet package directions to texture this sheet of clay with the full size from the Edgy set.
Cover the “V” with Bake & Bond.
Place the textured clay texture side down on your work surface and then place the “V” section of the word face down on top of the clay. Carefully trim around the letter.
Bake the entire word as directed above and allow to cool thoroughly.
Using a foam brush cover the “V” with the Brown paint.
Allow to set for 2-3 minutes and then using a paper towel wipe off the excess. Allow for paint to dry.
Trace all the letters on the scrapbook paper and cut out using a craft knife. Adhere with white craft glue.
Paint the edges of the word adding a small amount of smeared paint to the edges of the scrapbook paper, (This can also be done with brown stamp-pad ink).
Attach various embellishments with the white craft glue and/or the adhesive tape.
