"You’ll feel like an Egyptian princess when you wear this fabulous necklace and earring set.  Rich colors imitate jewels and a sprinkling of crystals adds just the right sparkle. Getting Started Polymer clay may stain.  CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES.  DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces.  We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil.  Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly.  Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼"" (6 mm) thickness.  For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use.  Baking should be completed by an adult. Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.    "

    Project Instructions

To Make the Earrings:Step 1 - Condition about ¼ package of gold clay until it is warm and soft. Insert into the clay extruder and press the plunger until several feet of clay “string” are extruded. Don’t allow the clay string to touch itself.Step 2 – Use the Clay Conditioning Machine to roll out Bright Green Pearl into a sheet on a #3 setting. Smooth a piece of the plastic wrap over the surface of the clay. Cut out the following shapes – one large tear drop and one small tear drop. Press the shape cutters into the clay through the plastic wrap. This will give the cut pieces a nice rounded edge. Peel away the plastic wrap and separate the pieces from the sheet.Step 3 - Begin by wrapping extruded 18K Gold clay around a largest teardrop shape. Step 4 – Make two 1/8” balls each of Fuchsia and Ultramarine Blue clay. Add the Fuchsia balls to each side of the large teardrop shape and wrap gold around those. Add a swirl and loop with another the Ultramarine Blue balss on each side, leaving some open space. Finish with the smaller Bright Green teardrop at the top and a wrapped circle in the center. Make the last circle touch all elements in the center. Add detailing with a ball stylus tool.Step 5 - Add crystals where desired. Putting the 10 ss crystals in the larger areas and the 6 ss crystals in the smaller extruded areas. Step 6 – Bake according to the directions above. Step 7 - Glue a 6mm jump-ring on the back of each earring at the top and bottom of the earrings so that the wire just slightly extends past the edge. Cover with a small ball of gold clay and bake again according to the directions above. Step 8 - Attach earring wires at top of each earring. Step 9 - Add a bi-cone crystal bead on a headpin at the bottom of each earring.
To Make the Necklace Step 1 - Condition about 1/2 package of gold clay until it is warm and soft. Insert into the clay extruder and press the plunger until several feet of clay “string” are extruded. Don’t allow the clay string to touch itself.Step 2 – Use the Clay Conditioning Machine to roll out Bright Green Pearl, Fuchsia, Ultramarine Blue and Peacock Pearl into sheets on a #3 setting. Smooth a piece of the plastic wrap over the surface of the clay. Cut out the following shapes – one large Bright Green Pearl Tear Drop, 2 Ultramarine medium tear drops, Large Fuchsia tear drop, 56 tiny Peacock Pearl teardrops, 10 ultramarine Blue tiny tear drops, 4 medium Bright Green Pearl tear drops. Press the shape cutters into the clay through the plastic wrap. This will give the cut pieces a nice rounded edge. Peel away the plastic wrap and separate the pieces from the sheet.Step 3 – CENTER PANEL = Begin in the center panel with the large Bright Green Pearl teardrop shape wrapped with extruded gold clay. Step 4- Add the 2 smaller Ultramarine Blue teardrops on each side and wrap their outside edges.Step 5 – Make 27 small fuchsia dots. Step 6 – Wrap one Fuchsia Ball completely with gold and then weave the gold in a serpentine line between 10 more Fuchsia balls to form a section about 2” long. Complete this section by wrapping completely around the last dot. This section will become the top edge. Press the teardrop composition from Step 4 lightly against the top section.Step 7 – Form an open spiral and press it just to the outside of the line of Fuchsia dots from step 6. This will be the attachment point between the center and side panel. Continue this extruded string into the central arc weaving the gold between 32 Peacock Pearl tiny teardrops. Finish with another open spiral on the other sideStep 8 – Make 2 small Fuchsia Balls and wrap them in 18K Gold extruded clay and attach to both sides of the bottom of the piece made in Step 7 Step 9 – Take the large Fuchsia tear drop and add it right below the middle of the Peacock Pearl tiny tear drop piece leaving room for the 18K Gold extruded piece. Take a long piece of extruded 18K Gold and connect it to the wrapped Fuschia ball and start weaving around 10 Ultramarine Blue tiny tear drop and the large Fuchsia tear drop to end the string press it against the Fuchsia wrapped ball on the other end. Step 10 – Add 2 extruded 18K Gold swirls to the bottom of the piece you made in Step 9. Make sure the swirls touch and add a half circle to the bottom of these – this is where you will hang your bi cone crystal from. Step 11 – Continue to build the composition with the two side panels. Take 7 Fuchsia balls from Step 5 and wrap them in a line with the extruded 18K Gold. Close both ends onto itself. Step 12 – Take 2 tiny ultramarine Blue tear drop and place them above a medium Bright Green Pearl tear drop. Wrap the piece in extruded 18K Gold. Press this to the bottom of the piece you made in step 11. Step 13 – Take a long piece of extruded 18K Gold and leave both ends open but weave 12 tiny Peacock Pearls into the strand. You leave these open to attach the chains to. Press this to the bottom of the piece you made in Step 12. Add a Fuschia ball to the left side of the piece. Step 14 - Take a Fuchsia ball and a medium Bright Green Pearl tear drop and wrap them with the 18K Gold extruded clay. Make sure you leave a lot of room by at the bottom of the Bright Green Pearl tear drop so you can link this piece to the necklace. Attach this to the piece you made in step 13Step 15 – Repeat steps 11-14 for the left side of the necklace. Step 16 - Add crystals where desired, using the largest in the center and smallest scattered around the composition.Step 17 - Bake all the components as directed above. Step 18 - Assemble the necklace with split-ring jump-rings at the top between the center and side panels and with the chain on each side.Step 19 - At the lower connections between the center and side panels, add wire with two crystals on each between the loops.Step 2- Add the large bi-cone bead on a headpin and hang at the lower edge of the center panel.
