Getting StartedPolymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Roll out a sheet of white conditioned clay to 1/8” thick and secure it to your baking tile. Secure a piece of clear plastic wrap onto the clay, stretching it so there are no wrinkles. Press the cutter into the clay to form 3 squares. Remove plastic wrap and excess clay from around shapes.
Using the Etch n Pearl tool tip, poke two holes 1/8” from the top two corners of each square. Bake your pieces for 30 minutes and allow the clay to cool completely.
Carefully peel a sticker outline from its carrier sheet and lay it in place onto a clay square. Repeat for remaining two squares. I used one design for the center tile and two of the same designs for the side tiles (see finished necklace tiles above).
While your clay is still secured to your tile, follow the Chameleon pen instructions to color in your design tiles. I used a lighter tint on the background and shaded near the flower edges. I left all petals white with no color added.
Open each jump ring with chain nose pliers and a jump ring tool, and secure through tiles holes. Close the rings so the ends meet snugly with the pliers. Thread you necklace chain through all jump rings to wear.
