Who knew that the Premo! Accents Gold Glitters had a cousin? Premo! Accents Twinkle Twinkle joins the Glitter family for a spectacular reunion for this covered tin. The rich colors and graphic design are reminiscent of wood grains which makes this a perfect Father's Day gift!
Design by Chris Crossland
NOTE: The rich color on the tin was achieved using Laurie Mika's directions for her mini shrine project on Polymer Clay Adventure 2015.
Getting StartedPolymer clay may stain. CLAY MAY DAMAGE UNPROTECTED FURNITURE OR FINISHED SURFACES. DO NOT USE polymer clay on unprotected surfaces. We recommend working on the Sculpey clay mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the Clay Conditioning Machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Trace the lid of the box and draw your design leaving about 1/8 selvage on all sides. Number the pieces and cut them apart. Trace the pieces again on another index card, but only cut to the outside edges (don't cut this one apart).
Sheet out the conditioned clay on the middle setting on the Sculpey Clay Conditioning Machine and cut out each part on the color you selected for it.
Use the acrylic roller to lightly roll the pieces together and blend the seams
Place the second pattern onto top of the finished clay and trim the outside edges to the pattern.
Carefully slide the Super Slicer beneath the clay to release it from the worksurface and turn over.
Spread Bake n' Bond on the back surface of the clay with your finger
Flip the clay over and position onto the top of the box. Use the acrylic roller to lightly roll it into place and adhere the Bake n' Bond.
Repeat the steps above to create a matching cover for the bottom of the box. Bake as directed above. (NOTE: Bake on a sheet of paper to prevent shiny spots on the bottom sheet).
