Getting Started:Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 degrees F (130 degrees C) for 15 minutes per ¼” (6mm) thickness. For best baking results, use and oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be done by an adult.Begin by preheating oven to 275 degrees F (130 degrees C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Fox:Place a paper liner into the baking pan. The baking pan will help the liner hold it’s shape while filling it with clay. Fill the liner level with Lime Green Pluffy.
Add a thick rope of Lime Green around the top edge of the cupcake.
Add two Dark Purple teardrop shapes for the fox’s legs. Add a White ball for the fox’s neck
Make a big Orange oval. Make two flat White lemon shapes.
Press the two flat lemon shapes to the side of the Orange head with the points touching in the middle.
Place the head on top of the neck and turn it so that the White chin is at the bottom of the head
Make two large thick triangles of Dark Purple for the ears. Make two really flat little White triangles. Add them to the front of the Purple ears. Place the ears on the head.
Add a Dark Purple nose and eyes. Add little highlights to the eyes with White. Use the tip of the BIC pen cap to make a cute little smile
Add six Hot Pink teardrops to the top of the head for a flower. Add an Aqua ball center to the flower.
Gently remove the critter from the cupcake pan, keeping the liner in place on the clay. Use the flat side of the purple tool to score lines in the Lime Green grass around the fox. Set aside on baking tray.
Octopus:Place a paper cupcake liner in the cupcake baking pan to give it support while you put clay in it. Fill the liner with White Pluffy
Make eight Aqua tapered pieces. Curl them up on one end.
Place the curled pieces around the edges so they look like waves.
From Dark Purple, make a large egg shaped head and eight tapered legs.
Put the tips of the legs into the center of the cupcake and dangle the legs between the waves.
Place the head in the middle of the cupcake on top of the legs
Make a thick disc of Hot Pink. Dent in the sides of the disc with the pointed tool dividing it into five sections. When you push the sides in, the little design in the center will appear.
Pinch the divided tips out with your fingers to make a Hot Pink starfish. Place the starfish on the octopus’s head. Add a Hot Pink nose too. Poke two eye holes with the pointed tool. With the tip of the cap from a BIC pen, poke in a mouth shape.
Curl the legs up all around the cupcake liner.
Bake the fox and the octopus in the cupcake pan following the baking instructions. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan.
