Your workspace:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipe before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Slice each Soufflé color in thirds. (Tip-start with Igloo, then Canary, Cherry Pie, Poppy Seed) Make 5x7” sheets on the thickest setting of your clay machine. Set aside the Poppy Seed sheet.
Cut the Canary Sheet as shown. Fold red and white sheets and form edges. Place the remaining Canary corners on top of the center. Roll to secure and the make 3-part blend. Stop when the blend is to your liking. Cut blended strip in two pieces.Make one strip into a fanfold and one into a jellyroll. Cut both shapes in half. Add a thin black line to one of the jellyrolls for detail. Reduce to about 4 times its length.
Pinch larger jellyroll into a point. Slice evenly and open at top as shown. Wrap the smaller jellyroll in thin black, flatten and insert in the slice. Close and pinch edge into a thin curve.
Slice fanfold stack three times about ¾ down. Insert black lines and trim. Pinch stack into a triangle. Reduce to 6” long. Cut in half and assemble halves. Round off point.
Check combination for scale. Adjust sizes of elements as needed. Make a curl in the teardrop shaped cane. Roll it up a bit to create detail. Put the two canes together. Reduce to 6” long. Cut and combine.
Add round and triangular logs to the cane to fill it in. Sink a thin rod into the point at the top and add a back log there for interest. Pinch into an equilateral triangle. Reduce to 6”. Cut into 6 pieces. Assemble as hexagon.
Flatten hexagon into a rectangle. Reduce to 4” long. Cut and reassemble. Reduce to desired size. Cut two slices and place on a tile or other baking surface. Make a hole at the top and bottom of each slice. Add a Hotfix crystal before baking or you can use Superglue with a regular crystal after baking.
Clearcoat cooled rectangles or leave matte. Place your chosen beads on a headpin and form a top loop. Use jump rings to attach earrings to ear wires and beads/flat filigree to bottom. Wear and enjoy! An don’t forget to use your pretty cane for other jewelry pieces.
