Project Instructions

Instructions for White bowl: Step 1 - Roll about ¼ of the package of clay into a smooth ball. Flatten the ball and begin rolling flat from the center outward, turning the clay occasionally until the ball is a flat circle and at least 1” larger than the doily to be used. Step 2 - Gently press the doily into the clay, roll firmly with acrylic roller to impress the lace pattern firmly into the clay. Step 3 Trim around the doily pattern, following the scalloped edge with the craft knife. Step 4 - Gently press the textured circle to the bottom of a bowl to form the curve. Making sure that the pattened part of the clay is on the outside and the smooth part of the clay is formed touching the bowl. Step 5 - Brush the exterior with thinned white acrylic paint. Step 6 - Allow to dry at least 24 hours before removing the clay from the form.

Instructions for the Blue bowl: Step 1 - Using about 1/3 package of clay. Knead 1 teaspoon of Blue Acrylic paint into the clay, folding, twisting and rolling until the color is mixed thoroughly. Step 2 - Flatten the ball and begin rolling flat from the center outward, turning the clay occasionally until the ball is a flat circle and at least 1” larger than the doily to be used. Step 3 - Gently press the doily into the clay, roll firmly with acrylic roller to impress the lace pattern firmly into the clay.
