Condition each color of clay until soft and pliable. This is an important step in this project; soft clay makes creating the bargello pattern much easier.
Roll each color into a thin coil, about 12-14” long.
Twist the coils together.
Push the twisted coils together, compressing the coil.
Flatten coil to create a striped rectangle of clay about 3” across and 1 3/4” from top to bottom.
Using the toothpick drag along the surface of the clay against the lines.
Pass the clay through the Clay Conditioning Machine on the #4 setting. Pass the clay through with the arches faces up.
Using a solid color, create an additional sheet of clay using the #5 setting on the Clay Conditioning Machine. Carefully lay your bargello patterned piece on top of the solid sheet, avoiding air bubbles.
Use a shape from the Mini Cutter Set that you’d like for your earrings. Cut out your earrings. Use the toothpick to add holes at the top of the earrings. Bake as directed.
Use 2 split rings to add ear wire to earring.
