Well, here I am at the Big Bead Show at Sandown Park Racecourse, a beautiful building dating back to 1875 with a fascinating history, perfect for a stylish and creative event.

Having visited many times as customer, I am now attending for the second time as an exhibitor and loving the opportunity to people watch!

This event is for the true enthusiast, the amount of creativity under one roof is outstanding but like all crafty people they are eager to ask questions and learn more about their art.

Combining Polymer Clay

It’s interesting to see polymer clay combined with other mediums, which reminded me of a design completed using Kumihimo as a braid and a beaded bezel. Looking around the stalls and designs today, I can see a definite shift from a riot of colour in April to the obvious festive shades, but only a hint of colour with the influence being on the metallic finish and gold is back!

Chunky chain with a single coloured link is on trend for this year and into next.

I always leave inspired and eager to try new techniques.

Creative people are wonderful, thank you to everyone in the polymer clay community for your friendship and encouragement, I am looking forward to next year and new techniques.
