This amazing sculpture was done by the very talented Martin Pottjewijd.
The Palace der Nederlanden was built in the Golden Age upon the largest boulder ever found dating back from the Ice Age. In 1815 it came into possession of King Willem I of the Netherlands. The imposing building was used receive dignitaries from abroad. Unfortunately it was destroyed by fire in 1906. He used Super Sculpey, a boulder and acrylic paint for this masterpiece. It took him 120 hours to complete.

He made this for a visit by their new King and Queen, who will visit Beilen on May 28th. The exposition can be visited from May 28th until June 21st at De Markant in Beilen (the Netherlands).
