Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 degrees F (130 degrees C) for 15 minutes per ¼” (6mm) thickness. For best baking results, use and oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be done by an adult.
Begin by preheating oven to 275 degrees F (130 degrees C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Slice off 1/8 bar of Witch’s Brew and set it aside for the sprinkles and ears that come later. Use the remaining amount of Witch’s Brew to make a big thick pancake shape. Poke a hole in the middle with the ball ended tool. Poke first through one way and then through from the other way.
Smooth the edges so that the pancake looks more like a donut. You can make the hole a little larger by swirling the tool around in circles inside the hole.
Make a super thin pancake out of Trick or Treat Glitter that is a little smaller in diameter than your donut. Poke a hole in the center with the ball ended tool. Stretch the hole in the middle so that it is larger than the hole in the donut. Press on top of the donut for frosting.
Poke the eye pin or head pin up through the donut hole and through the top of the clay donut. The head or the eye of the pin should be slightly embedded in the clay so that it doesn’t show and to secure it in place.
Smooth the edges of the frosting and make it follow the curves of the donut.
To finish the donut you’ll need two Witch’s Brew triangles for ears and smaller triangles of Trick or Treat Glitter to line the ears. Also two Trick or Treat Glitter wing shapes and four Glow in the Dark Ghoul fangs.
Press the ears to the top of the head and line them with the purple clay. Add the wings to the sides of the body. Press the fangs into place around the top of the hole.
Add circles of Wicked Green Glow for eyes. Put Black Cat pupils in the centers and then add little highlights of Glow Ghoul.
Add sprinkles of each color all over the bottom of the donut and Witch’s Brew sprinkle eyebrows. Score details in the wings. Bake the donut following the baking instructions for Sculpey®III.
When the donut is completely cool curl a double loop down with round nose pliers. Add the back pack mini lanyard clip or key ring.
