Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Using the Clay Conditioning Machine, roll out sheets of Purple Pearl and Silver on the thickest setting. Use the Super Slicer to cut out a rectangle approximately 1-1/2" X 2-1/2" from each color.
Layer the Purple sheet on the Silver sheet and roll them through the pasta machine again on the thickest setting to press them together.
Use the Super Slicer to cut this sheet into four equal pieces. Layer the four pieces to form a stack, making sure the colors are alternating.
Use the Acrylic Roller to roll the new stack until it is twice as wide as the original size. Use the Super Slicer to cut this stack in half.
Layer the two pieces on top of each other. Use the Acrylic Roller on the top and bottom to secure them together.
Lightly mist the surface of the clay on the Purple side. Emboss the Greek Key design in the clay by applying pressure as you roll the wheel. Use a paper towel to blot away excess water.
With the Super Slicer held nearly horizontal to the clay surface, shave off the raised texture of the design until the design is completely flat again. The Greek Key design should now appear in two colors and be perfectly smooth instead of embossed.
Use the Square Ring Finding to gently imprint the shape of the ring into the clay in an area that you would most like to use for your ring centerpiece. Trim around the embossed lines with the Super Slicer.
Place the square centerpiece into the ring finding and make sure it fits well and is seated perfectly flat in the ring. Bake the clay in the ring according to the above directions.
When the clay is completely cool, pop it out and secure it using clear, fast drying glue to hold the clay in permanently.
