Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 300 degrees F (149 degrees C) for 20 minutes. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be done by an adult.
Begin by preheating oven to 300 degrees F (149 degrees C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay.
Fill the mold with Silver Liquid Sculpey® (LS). Squeegee away excess. Bake the mold following the curing instructions for LS
Leave the Silver lace in the mold. When the mold is completely cool, cover the back side of the Silver lace with Black LS making sure to extend past all the silver edges by at least 1/8” margin. Bake the mold again following the curing instructions for LS.
When the mold is completely cool, gently flex it to release the Silver/Black lace design. The Black will have rough edges along the edges
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to create another lace piece. Trim around all the edges with sharp scissors leaving a thin border of black.
Using the eyelet punch, make a hole at least 1/4” away from the end edge. Bend the lace design so that the two straight edges meet. This will help you gauge where to place the hole in the other straight edge so that the eyelets will be directly across from each other.
After the holes are punched, set black eyelets in them using the eyelet setter. Add ribbons through the eyelets to tie the napkin rings closed.
