Feb 1 photosm1

I realized that I had really trashed the color Yellow last month and it was weighing on my little clay heart, so I had originally decided to mix with Yellow this month.  Then the first mixes I did, I realized were sunset colors.  Well, hey. I take sunset photos.  So why not pull colors out of a photo and mix to that?  Sooooo, here are the mix targets for this month!  I really like this set of colors - I could totally do my living room in these colors.  (Okay, I already have several of them plus red and green).

Mix finalsA couple of these colors have appeared in other mix months. And since I happen to have these handy-dandy color caterpillars, it made life a little easier.

so with no further ado, here are the mixes for Cad Yellow and Ecru (note: since I whined about always contaminating my Yellow, it didn't happen AT ALL)

Feb 1 yellow

As you can see, adding Ecru to Cad Yellow doesn't change much from 2 parts to 8 parts!  But adding even 1 more part of Cad Yellow to Ecru cause a noticeable change.

The bottom two colors - the left one is from the Moroccan mix (3 Cad Yellow/1 Raw Sienna)  The one on the right is the match for the photo with 20 Ecru, 12 Cad Yellow, 1 Fuschia and 1 Raw Sienna.  That's a recipe!!!!

As usual, you can see all the color mixes without my blather  at the link below.  (Someone posted that they FINALLY clicked through and they were glad they did!)

I know that the New Color Tuesdays (NCTs) are in the multitudes now, which is why we have a special page of just the mix photos for you (none of my yammering text to distract you). They live on their own page at:  https://www.sculpey.com/wp/project/mixing-colors/

And don’t miss out on the biggest polymer clay event of this year – the Polymer Clay Adventure – a year long virtual retreat with 22 instructors.  There are videos and PDFs that you can watch at your leisure.  Go at your own pace, we are only two classes into the year, including my bracelet tutorial, which launched the program for this year!  Read more about it at http://bit.ly/PCAsyndeeholt2015
