I thought it was rather appropriate in July, the month of hot dogs and sparklers here in the USA, to take a look at the newest Sculpey Sparklers (also made in the USA!) I'm talking about the new glitters, Premo! Accents Rose Gold Glitter (RG), Yellow Gold Glitter (YG) and White Gold Glitter(WG). I thought it might be interesting to compare the 3 colors side-by-side and mixed with the same color. Of course, I assumed that the Rose and the Yellow would look great in warm tones and the White in cool tones. And not surprisingly, the one I initially thought was my least favorite turned out to be my most favorite - White Gold Glitter. I was also REALLY surprised by how much the Rose Gold affected the over color blend.
This week I will start with last month's color Wisteria. Hands down, my most favorite mix is the 1W/12WG. This, to me, is a most intriguing, almost other-worldly color. And look at how much the warm rose tone affects the overall color in the 1W/4RG! Even in that 1:1 mix, you can see the warm shift happening.
Another cool thing about these Glitter clays is how much they can PUNCH up a simple marble mix or Mokume Gane. I don't even think "punch" is the right word, it's a definite BLAST of sparkle (and like TNT, a little goes a loooong way)! These were created quickly with scraps on my table and you can clearly see that the sparkles are the life of the color parties.
Check out all the New Color Tuesday mixes on one page at: https://www.sculpey.com/wp/project/mixing-colors/ I just looked at this page and there are LOADS of colors on there!!
