These gobble gobble place card turkeys are adorable and fun to create. Because they are simple, the project works well for beginners and kids alike. I love this because not only is the completed masterpiece cute and festive but also practical.
I used Sculpey's Bake Shop to make these. All of the pieces are hand molded based on a little sketch I first drew.
I attached the pieces together lightly pressing them into each other starting at the bottom with the feet and the body pieces.
Then I added the feathers. After I added the gobbler and the eyes, I decided he looked super funny without a beak so I added a beak too. The wire is a 22 gauge floral wire that I used to make a spiral (to hold the card). I inserted it into the turkey (long enough to reach the bottom part of the body) BEFORE baking. I followed the baking directions in the packaging of the clay set.
If you want to download the printable that has the place cards on it, you can grab it FREE right HERE. There is a fun sign on it too that you could use to make table messages.
I made another Thanksgiving project out of Sculpey a while back and love it every year when I get it out. You can find out about it HERE on my blog.
