We connect to friends and family and we inform ourselves. And let´s be honest more often that we want we also fall down the rabbit hole and one thing leads to another: we spent much more time that we want in front of a screen. I know I have! What did we do back in “the old days”? You know before we all were so much connected? Do you remember? Yeah! We actually read books and magazines! And I am going to lure you off the beaten track now and suggest that we all shut down the computers now and then. HEY! Wait a minute! Read to the end of this blog first, please! ;-) And then have a look at your books. Of course I am talking about polymer clay books. I have quite a few of them and I bet I am not the only one. I remember that I am always very exited when I get a new polymer clay book to add to my collection and of course there are always wonderful great ideas in these books. Ideas that I would like to try out, but have not. Ideas how to do things different that what I usually do. Most of us do spent a fair amount of time on line. Make yourself a nice cup of coffee or iced tea (it´s summer after all!) go sit outside on your deck or in the park and browse through some of your books. Don´t forget to take some post-it notes or a note pad with you. Write down a couple of ideas or projects you always wanted to try out or that really draw you to your clay table right now. And then make a date with your polymer clay and try out one or two things from your list. If you like, take the book(s) with you and check back if needed. Or just play with new ideas that you got while browsing through your polymer clay library. And NOW you can shut down the computer or phone! Go and have some fun off line.
