NadiaSculpey Clay Softener feels like oil and it will turn any old, dry and crumbly clay into pliable clay (just like fresh clay from the pack!). I've even used it on other branded polymer clay and even Sculpey Ultra Light. A little goes a long way so this small bottle will last for a very long time.

I am a food miniaturist and we use a lot of white and transparent white polymer clay to model miniatures. We all know how tricky it is to have white clay stay purely white! Clay attracts every single microscopic dust and I rarely condition it using the clay conditioning machine. I also end up having a lot of old clay since we use very little clay to make miniatures.

Keep Your Sculpey Clay Soft and Pliable

When I need to mix a pastry' colour, I mix it by hand with the aid of Sculpey Clay Softener. I use a tile as my work space and carefully roll out the clay into snakes and twist them together, and roll it out again.

Before you roll out your clay, add a few drops of Clay Softener right onto your working tile. You may need to add a few more drops in between if the clay is still brittle and hard.

Keep rolling and twisting until your clay is fully mixed. Because I mixed it manually by hand with the aid of the clay softener, the clay hasn't been contaminated by dust or other nasties. Thanks to the clay softener, my old clay is now soft and pliable.
