Your workspace:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Work ‘n Bake Clay Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Getting Started:
Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Paint the flower pot with craft paints. Make stripes or paint one solid color. Let dry. Draw or trace a heart on the front of flower pot with a pencil and paint.
Decorate the pot with paint markers. Make stripes, swirls, dots, flowers, doodles, hearts, smiley faces…have fun! Write a name or word on the heart and decorate the edges with swirlies or dots.
Roll brown clay into large ball and set aside. Roll ¾ of green clay into a ball and set aside. Divide red, yellow, and blue clay in half and roll a ball of each color.
Divide remaining red into 3 small pieces and roll into balls. Divide blue and roll 2 small balls. Roll 1 small yellow ball. Roll 1/3 of white clay into a medium ball.
Blend the following balls of clay together to make new colors:
white+red=pink
yellow+red=orange
blue+green=aqua
red+blue=violet
Flatten each ball (red, yellow, blue, pink, orange, aqua, violet) with your hand then roll out flat to about ¼” thick with roller.
Cut one heart from each color with the heart cutter. Press cutter into clay and then push the clay out of the cutter gently with your finger. You should have 7 hearts. You can make more if you would like to.
Flatten large green ball and roll to 1/8” thick with roller. Cut 14 leaf shapes with 3/4" (smallest) tear drop cutter. If you made extra hearts, then make enough extra leaves so that each heart has 2 leaves.
Use the end of the lollipop stick to make a small hole in the bottom of each heart.
Place hearts and leaves on a baking surface and bake according to directions above in Step 1.
Let hearts and leaves cool completely then decorate with paint markers….stripes, hearts, swirlies, etc. Write “I Love You” on one of the hearts.
Paint the lollipop sticks green and let dry.
Put a drop of hot glue in the hole in the bottom of heart and insert green lollipop stick to make the stem. Do this for each heart. Add some glue to the bottom of the heart and sides of stem and press leaves on. When dry, turn the flower over and add more glue to the back of the stem and leaves to secure them.
Place the brown ball of clay into the flower pot as the dirt. Stick the flower stems into the brown clay and arrange so the hearts look like a bouquet of flowers. Give to someone special, maybe Mom, and enjoy!
