Mixing
Your Own Translucent Colors!
By Marie Segal

Materials:
- Translucent Premo!
Sculpey
- Premo!
Sculpey colors of choice such as Violet 5515,
Cadmium Yellow 5572, Ultramarine Blue 5562, Sea
Green 5305, Orange 5033
Directions:

Roll out translucent clay in pasta machine on the thickest setting. Lay
two thicknesses and trim to about 2" high by 4" wide.

Cut
triangles from the translucent sheet so as to form
3-7 triangles.

Here is how the remainder of the cuts will look..

Place 1/8" coils of color into spaces between the cuts and compact together.

Here are all of the coils laid in place. |

Trim off any excess
off the sides so this all fits into the width of your
pasta machine.

Trim off the coils as well.

Roll with brayer to tack pieces together if need be.

Roll through pasta machine 20-25 times. The first time will be unfolded
since it is a double thickness.

This is what the sheet will look like the first time through.

Fold in half and now roll through the machine 20-25 times.

This is what the sheet will look like 1/2 way through.

Here is the sheet completely blended.

Cut colors apart where translucent line is between the colors.
Mix colors together as so. Here you have 8 translucent colors blended
and made in about 10 minutes.

You can also blend gold colors!
Here
is the look of the finished golds:

As you might guess, this can be done with the Premo! Pearls as well!
