Sea Shells by the Seashore Erasers

Easy to make sea shell erasers that really work.

Getting Started

Preheat oven to 250 °F. Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. Condition all clay by kneading until it’s soft and smooth. Have an adult help you with baking your project.

Step 1 Shapes

Ball - Take a lump of clay and roll it in your palms until its smooth.

Step 2 Shapes

Teardrop - Start with a ball of clay and then taper it on one end with your fingers.

Step 3 Shapes

Coil - Roll a lump of clay until it's long and skinny.

Step 1 Starfish

Divide Pink into five equal pieces. Shape the pieces into long skinny teardrops. Place the teardrops in a circle with the large ends together in the middle.

Flatten the teardrops so they all come together in the middle.Step 3 Starfish

Decorate the tops of the starfish legs with small coils of Purple.

Step 1 Clamshell

Divide Blue into six pieces with a little left over for a small ball. Shape the larger pieces into long skinny teardrops. Place the teardrops in a semi-circle with the tapered ends together.

Step 2 Clamshell

Flatten the pieces slightly so they all hook together. Push the little Blue ball across the bottom.

Step 1 Striped Conch

Roll equal amounts of Mango and Orange into long tapered coils. Press the coils together side by side.

Gently twist the coils together.

Step 3 Striped Conch

Bake the Sea Shells in your home oven at 250 °F for 10 minutes. Wait until they are completely cool before handling them.
