A fun project for kids to make their own egg shaped erasers that really work.
Getting Started
Preheat oven to 250 °F. Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. Condition all clay by kneading until it’s soft and smooth. Have an adult help you with baking your project.
Step 1 Shapes
Ball - Take a lump of clay and roll it in your palms until its smooth.
Step 2 Shapes
Teardrop - Start with a ball of clay and then taper it on one end with your fingers.
Step 3 Shapes
Coil - Roll a lump of clay until it¹s long and skinny.
Step 1
From Grape, Orange, and Mango, remove 1/4 of each bar and set these aside. Shape the remaining large pieces of Grape, Orange, and Mango into teardrops. Flatten the teardrops.
Step 2
Decorate the Grape egg with a Lime wavy coil in the middle. Add a Pink stripe across the top and a Blue stripe across the bottom. Add Blue teardrops at the top of the egg and Orange teardrops at the bottom of the egg. Add Mango dots on either side of the Lime coil.
Step 3
Decorate the Orange egg with a Grape wavy coil in the middle. Add a Blue stripe across the top and a Mango stripe across the bottom. Add Pink teardrops at the top of the egg and Green teardrops at the bottom of the egg. Add Mango dots on either side of the Grape coil.
Step 4
Decorate the Mango egg with a Pink wavy coil in the middle. Add a Blue stripe across the top and a Lime stripe across the bottom. Add Orange teardrops at the top of the egg and Blue teardrops at the bottom of the egg. Add Orange dots on either side of the Pink coil.
Step 5
Bake the eraser eggs in your home oven at 250 °F for 10 minutes. Only handle the eraser eggs when they are completely cool.
