Materials and Supplies:

* Premo - 2 oz block, White 5001
* Sculpey III - 2 oz block, Hot Pink 503, Turquoise 505, Black 042, Sweet Potato 033, Atomic Orange 533
* ½ oz bullet weight, (fishing tackle)
* 14” brown- coated 24 gauge wire, cut in two
* Iridescent glitter
* Sharp craft knife
* Sculpey Super Slicer
* Typing paper or index card
* Glass cutting board with rubber feet removed or ceramic tile
* Rosary pliers, or wire cutters and jewelry pliers
* Toothpick
* Pasta Machine
* Sculpey Clay Roller or Acrylic Brayer

Directions:

The Carrot:

* Roll a pearl-sized pinch of sweet potato into a ball. With fingertips, roll one end into a taper. Using the back of the craft knife blade, gently roll lines into taper, creating your carrot.
* Bake on typing paper according to package instructions. Let cool. This is so small you may want to bake it with other things to conserve heating.

Sofie’s Figure:

* Using 2 1/2 sections of the white Premo block, roll into three graduated balls. Shake some glitter onto palms and coat each section.
* Press the bullet weight into the largest ball.
* Place second ball on top of that and stick a toothpick into it.
* Add the last ball, leaving a little bit of the toothpick extended from top of the head. Stick the carrot into the clay for the nose.
* Take a length of wire, bend into a branch shape.
* Holding a branch tip with pliers, twist wire with other hand. Repeat for all branches, then stem.
* Snip end wires even and fold over at the end.
* Push branches into middle body section, smooth over with back of fingernail to secure.
* Take a pea sized pinch of turquoise Sculpey and pinch off a tiny bead size ball. Divide remainder into two pieces. Shape into tear shape and flatten.
* Flatten and smooth with fingers. Pinch a pearl sized piece of black Sculpey and shape into tear shape. Lie on top of turquoise tears. Lay tiny ball on top of carrot, sunglass lenses on either side. Press into face, smooth with fingertip.
* Bake on tile or glass and cool.

Accessorize:

The Pocketbook:

* Roll out ¼ package of turquoise on #3 setting of pasta machine. Roll bead sized balls of atomic orange or hot pink (or both!) and place on sheet like polka dots.
* Flatten with clay roller and roll through past machine again.
* Cut into pocketbook shape - ½” x 1 ½”, pointed at one end.
* Flip patterned side down, fold over to form purse.
* Trim pointed flap if needed. Fold it down, press in place.
* Add a bead of black for a button closure. Cut a strap -1” x 1/8” from scrap.
* Press into place, add black “buttons”.
* Set aside.

The Scarf:

* Make another polka dot “fabric” sheet. Cut into ¾“ x 5“ strip.
* Roll a marble sized piece of Atomic Orange through the pasta machine on #3 setting. Cut in half; lay at each end of scarf, slightly overlapping the end so the clay adheres. Trim with a tiny snake of black. Flatten with clay roller.
* Trim orange with Super Slicer.
* With craft knife, cut orange clay into fringe.
* Dipping knife into water will help keep the knife from sticking to clay as you cut. With Super Slicer, trim fringe ends even.
* Set aside.

The “Do”

* Roll ¼ package of Hot Pink Sculpey into a ball. Create a crater by placing the ball on your knuckle.
* Flute bottom so it will be a little longer on one side.
* Place this on head, with the longer side to the back. Press into place, shape into beehive.
* Texture hair-do with the back of your fingernail.

Wrap 'Er Up

* Wrap scarf around Sofie’s shoulders.
* Bake on glass or tile. Bake pocketbook on paper or card placed on the glass. Cool. Bend arm and add pocketbook.
