Sandy Rollinger

My art and crafts is mainly inspired by nature. I wake up early in the morning, brew a cup of tea or coffee and sit on my sun porch for an hour or so before I start my day. I love to watch the sun come up and the birds and other animals come to the bird feeders. I have a sketch book ready if I suddenly get inspired by them.

Although polymer clay is my real passion I have delved into other craft mediums as well. I also enjoy quilling, other paper crafts, punch needle, and decorative painting. I love to create designs for adults and children as well. Most of my projects are easy to make but once in a while I make something for the more advanced crafter. I really want to encourage every crafter interested in trying a new craft for themselves thus making the easy crafts so they can say, hmmm, I think I can make that.

In addition to crafting I also enjoy cake decorating, flower arranging, tackling home improvements, and flower gardening. And I actually like to cut the grass. I do a lot of day dreaming when I am cutting the lawn and come up with ideas for crafts and I get exercise as well. In my home improvements mode I have faux painted my walls, and tiled my bathroom countertop and sun porch floor. I also covered my kitchen floor with the sticky back tiles.

My projects have appeared in the following magazines: Pack ‘O Fun, Crafts N Things, Create & Decorate, Woman’s World, Country Woman, and Creative Home Arts. I have been published in craft books as well, the latest being Quill It Easy from DRG network publications and Country Woman Christmas book 2009.

I am married and have three grown children. John my oldest son is in the Navy and my daughter Marsha lives in Washington State. Dave, our youngest, lives at home with us in Pennsylvania. I have been designing professionally for about 10 years now. I hope to continue crafting forever!
